Thank you for joining us for our sharing assembly today.  The students worked hard and they did a great job. Inline Skating: Students are asked to  bring their own helmet (with a safety certification sticker attached e.g., CSA, CPSC, etc.) and remind all participants to wear socks. Due to health reasons, students without socks will not be permitted to participate. We recommend suggesting that students bring an extra pair of socks to help keep the equipment dry and for the participant’s personal comfort.    Acceptable helmets include: bicycle helmets, hockey helmets (no cage), skateboard helmets, ski/snowboard helmets.   The following helmets are not appropriate for inline skating : BMX helmets, baseball helmets, football helmets, equestrian helmets, motorcycle helmets, any helmet with no chin strap, any helmet that covers the face, any helmet missing its outer plastic shell.  Looking Back: Literacy: Writing:     Students worked on editing se...

✨ Reading Reminder! ✨ Keep up the great daily reading! Don’t forget— all Laser City reading pages need to be in the box by October 1 for a chance to win. 📚🎉 Each month, 5 lucky readers will be drawn to enjoy a FREE game of laser tag! If your child’s name isn’t chosen this time, encourage them to keep reading— their turn could be next! 🔦💥. (I am looking for at least half the books to be storybooks.  The other half can be graphic novels). Assembly The Grade 3 students will be leading the Orange Shirt Day assembly on  Friday, September 26, 2025, at 10:30 a.m.   We warmly invite you to join us for this special assembly, where students will share what we have been working on to honour this day. This will be a whole-school assembly, with parents welcome to sit in the chairs at the back to watch their child participate. We kindly ask that students wear an  orange shirt   on this day to honour the occasion. If you have any questions about the assembly, p...

Home Reading Challenge We kicked off our week by launching our Home Reading Challenge in partnership with Laser City! Each student has brought home a reading sheet with 10 slots on each side. The goal is simple: read every day and record it on the sheet. On September 30 , please return the completed reading page. From those submitted, I will randomly select 5 students to win a free game of laser tag. This challenge will continue each month throughout the school year. If your child’s page is not selected for the laser tag prize, they will still get to choose a reward from my classroom prize bucket—so everyone who participates is a winner! The expectation is that students read for at least 20 minutes each day . What this looks like may vary for each child, and that’s okay. Thank you for supporting your child’s reading journey! We learned the word REPRESENTATION and did a little class art project where we hoped all students would feel welcomed and accepted in our class. ...

We’ve had a wonderful start to our new school year! This week, we focused on getting to know one another and building our classroom community. Together, we shared how each of us learns best and worked on creating an environment where everyone feels heard, valued, and respected. This is just the beginning of an ongoing journey as we continue to explore our rights and responsibilities within our classroom community throughout the year. Next week in Social Studies, we will be going on a community walk (weather permitting). Our planned date is Thursday, September 11, in the afternoon. The school Terry Fox Run will take place on   Friday, September 12th at 9:00 am . Students are encouraged to bring in   Toonies for Terry  to support cancer research. If we reach our fundraising goal of   $1150 , we’ll celebrate the following week with a special “Wear Your Favourite Sports Swag” day! Literacy:          Vocabulary:  After reading The Word...
